This beauty is an outcome of Lava fields by Svartsengi geothermal plant which were accidentally transformed into a spa in 1970’s.
The Lagoon’s temperature on an average is 104F (40C) along with mineral-rich waters rumoured to be curative. The entire Lagoon’s electricity comes from hydroelectric sources. The Blue Lagoon is now one of the most popular attractions in Iceland.
