Mahe will certainly be one of the islands you will find yourself on being that it’s the largest of them all. There are many fine beaches here for relaxing, but Anse Major in the northwest corner seems to be one of the favorites among visitors. Unless you get here on foot or by boat, you won’t be able to enjoy its beauty. Weathered granite rocks and boulders, white sand beaches, and fantastic marine life to snorkel with makes this beach an attractive choice when needing some sand and sun in your life. When you’re done swimming around, taking shelter under a shady palm will be well deserved.

The bird sanctuary is another spot to enjoy watching the native animals flock around the Indian almond trees (badamie) and there are even some rare and endangered birds like the black paradise flycatcher.
