1. Lily Dale, New York
If you have an interest in the metaphysical, you’re going to want to head to Lily Dale, New York. The town is a gated community and you may need to pay a gate fee for some of the events that are held. Interestingly enough, the town consists of a group of mediums and others who are close to the supernatural. You can get services from a medium or head to the Forest Temple or the Healing Temple.
If you are trying to connect with forces outside of yourself, this is a great town to check out. During the year there are different events held, including lectures and informational discussions.
2. Slab City, California

On the other side of the country is Slab City, California. Here you can get away with anything. There are no laws in the town. In addition, the town doesn’t have any running water. If you’re ok without running water, this might be one of the best places to live.
The town attracts many types of people, from those who are looking for somewhere warm and comfortable to park their RV to those who simply want to live off the grid. On top of all of this, when you get to the town, you’ll know by the signature art installation, Salvation Mountain.
3. Roswell, New Mexico

Nearly everyone has heard of Roswell, New Mexico. Ever since there was a supposed UFO crash in 1947, this city boasts an alien-obsession. Nearly everything in the town centers on aliens, from the shops that sell alien-themed items to the McDonald’s that looks like a flying saucer. In addition, the town sports the International UFO Museum and Research Center.
Whether you’re a skeptic or a believer, you’ll at least get a kick out of the unique feel of Roswell. It’s unlike anything you’ll see anywhere else in the world.
4. Gibsonton, Florida
If you’ve ever wondered where circus and carnival performers go when the weather gets cold, or when they’re ready for a break, look no further than Gibsonton, Florida. The town is where many carnival and circus people decide to retire once they finish with the shows. The city is also known as Showtown. One of the attractions of the town is that there is a giant boot statue built to pay tribute to Al Tomaini, a past resident of the town. The man was a circus giant who wore an incredible size 27 shoe.
