Half-term is looming, and every half-term calls for extra activities to keep the kids active and out of the house. With Halloween coming up later this month, I have put together my top 3 Halloween activities in Sussex for you and your kids to enjoy. Whether you are looking to do something a little different to celebrate this Halloween, or if you fancy something traditional, I hope my top 3 activities in Sussex inspire you.
Drusillas Park
Drusillas Park in Alfriston, Sussex, is my number one Halloween attraction because there is loads going on this year, making the already popular zoo a must see in October. It would be impossible for the kids to get bored at the Drusillas this October, with the tarantula show and scary Halloween maze as well as the haunted house experience and Halloween face-painting workshops! What sets this aside from most activities going on in Sussex for the Halloween period is the fact that Drusillas is an incredible zoo with loads of animals for the kids to see, with the added bonus of the Halloween-themed events going on from October 27th to November 4th.
Trick or Treating Hotspots
Brighton is a great place for trick or treating if you go to the right areas, I recommend the Fiveways part of Brighton for child-friendly fun when trick or treating. With various schools surrounding the Fiveways neighborhood in Brighton, the local residents are more comfortable with excited kids and are in the spirit of trick or treating due to a high percentage of the locals having kids themselves. There are many roads made up of nice Victorian houses which are a pleasure to trick or treat, and the area has lots of zebra crossings which make the trick or treating experience safer whilst you take the little ones around. Another great area is near Hove Park, where you will find a lot more trick or treating-friendly homes, so the kids have a Halloween to remember.
Kids Halloween Fancy Dress Beach Party
This Halloween there is a fancy dress Halloween party in the Madeira Drive region of the Brighton beach. This event is most likely best for younger kids aged 6-10 years old where guests will come in their best Halloween outfits to play beach sports, eat food and design their own pumpkins.
How are you going to spend Halloween 2012 with your kids?
