As the party capital of the world, Ibiza is best known for its exuberant nightlight, amazing night clubs and super star DJs. With stunning weather to accompany your time here however, the beaches are equally important and it’s safe to say that there are some fantastic choices. It was tricky, but here are the top 5 beaches on Ibiza that you should be sure to visit during your holiday here.
Cala Llonga
Surrounded by hills, the wide beautiful beach of CalaLlonga is sheltered yet still receives plenty of sun. The playground on the beach ensures it’s a hit with families while the selection of beach bars and restaurants at either end of the sand and lining the adjacent road means you won’t run short of facilities. Pretty and practical, you won’t go wrong with a visit to CalaLlonga.
Benirras
This is a great choice if you prefer beach activities as there are plenty on offer; hire a pedalo for an hour or two, tackle the swim out to King’s Rock and stop to explore sea caves on the way, play some volleyball using the free net or strap on your mask and fins and go snorkelling. With plenty of sand too, there’s more than enough space to spread out and relax if you aren’t feeling energetic! There are showers, restaurants and a shop, and the beautiful sunsets make a full day here well worth it.
Cala Olivera
A little off the beaten path, CalaOlivera can be a bit difficult to find but it’s well worth the effort! As a beach that is made up of mostly of rock, the water is fantastically clear as there’s very little sand to cloud it up and this makes for fantastic snorkelling. Sheltered by small rocky outcrops on both sides, the beach is quite small so you’re best to get there sooner rather than later so that can claim your space.
Ses Salines
Spanning for more than 2km, the cove ofSesSalines, is very popular indeed. The golden sand paired with clear, shallow water offer the perfect beach setting and with plenty of visitors spending their days here, it has a great atmosphere. A number of bars and restaurants line the rear of the beach so a cool drink or bite to eat is never far away. If you tire of sun bathing, why not have a go at some of the many water sports on offer or head off into the surrounding sand dunes to explore; always a hit with children!
Cala Bassa
With a backdrop of fragrant pine trees, exceptionally clear water and fine golden sand, CalaBassa is a firm favourite amongst locals and holiday makers. Naturally, this means that it can get especially busy but the crowds won’t deter from your enjoyment. There is plenty of space for picnics and fantastic views of San Antonio across the bay.
