About The Atlantic Ocean Road

Located in the midwest part of the Norwegian coastline. The Atlantic Ocean Road offers a wide breathtaking sea view and is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world. Driving along the Atlantic Ocean Road is like teetering on the edge of the sea or a high cliff.

The curvy road dips and arches over the brutal waves of the Norwegian Sea far below. Yet these rough waves frequently crash over the road during severe storms. This unique ocean highway in Norway will take you out to the most remote point where the land ends and the wild untamed ocean begins.

The Atlantic Road is a section of Norway’s national road 64 (Rv 64). The Atlantic road’s unique roller coaster feel, wild bendy bridges and spectacular ocean scenery have made it a favorite of road trippers and bikers from across the globe. The construction of the road commenced in August 1983.

However, it was not until six years later before the Atlantic Ocean Road was finally to be finished. Its 8 exhilarating (and sometimes totally terrifying) bridges have become one of Norway’s most popular road-borne tourist attractions. This Atlantic Road is not for the faint-hearted explorer.
