The new head coach of Poland national football team became Waldemar Fornalik working at the club “Ruh” from Chorzów. It is reported by the Polish portal Sport.pl.  The new coach has been elected by a vote of coaching board of the Polish Football Association (PZPN). Besides Fornalik to the vacant seat claimed Jerzy Engel, who led the national team in 2000-2002, and Jacek Zielinski worked  as a head coach of the “Polonia”until March of this year.  As a result, Fornalik received 11 votes out of 14 for Engel was given three votes.
The first match under the leadership of the new coach of the Polish team will hold on August 15, which will be a friendly match against Estonia. 49-year-old Fornalik will replace a coach of Poland Franciszek Smudu, with which was not renew the contract after a home European Championship – 2012. The Polish team took last place in Group A, behind the Team of Czech Republic, Greece and Russia. The most of the playing career Fornalik spent in the “Movement” in Chorzów. After his retirement in 2001, he led various  Polish clubs, since 2009 works in “Ruhe.” As a result of sezon-2011/12 Fornalik led the team to a silver medal of the national campionship.
